Well... the BIG 2-8 just passed on the 21st, and I must say, it has been a FANTASTIC birthday week. Monday started out with a call from our realtor- our home is now in escrow and we need to move in 30 days! Very exciting and nerve racking at the same time. We have been waiting for this call for a few months now, but have put off looking for a new place because we were so unsure about timing... Now the time has come, and we are on the home search.
As many of you know, I was laid off from Standard Pacific in February, took a few months off to plan our wedding and have been back on the job search since. It has been a very tiring and frustrating process. Too many submitted resumes with no response... too many interviews for the wrong jobs... too much stress! And then it happened! I was forwarded the job description from a friend and applied. After four interviews, lots of hopes and prayers, Thursday I was offered the job!!! Starting December 1st, I will be a part of the new marketing team at Lyon Apartment Companies!! I am very excited- and will keep you all abreast of how it is going.
Friday night was a mini-celebration of fall and my birthday with a pot of luck and some friends and Saturday was the drive to Vegas to celebrate my birthday. After a relaxing afternoon, we got dressed and headed to the strip. After a few hours of 21, we quit while we were ahead and spent some of our winnings on my birthday dinner. We couldn't stay out all night... as we had to be up early for Live with Regis and Kelly! Yep, that's right, we went to see them at the Wynn on Sunday. It was a great show- Mark Harmon and David Cook were their guests (I LOVE Gibbs!!).... After that, we had a fabulous sushi lunch at Ra at Fashion Show and started to relax again...
Apparently we were too relaxed because we decided to stay here in Vegas. After a few calls we made the decision. So, here we are... a new Netbook in hand to keep me entertained until the rest of the family comes into town, here I sit, on the couch, curled up in a blanket, enjoying the last few days of my time off. Errands this morning, a bit of grocery shopping and back to the couch.
Happy almost Thanksgiving to you all!!
